A Little Bit About Me
My name is Gabrielle Edgerson and I am a 2013 graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Communication (PR/Advertising).
As a New Orleans native and graduate from the NOCCA my entire being has been immersed in diversity. Having a father who is a member of one of New Orleans' oldest and most traditional Social Aid & Pleasure clubs and a mother who beaded traditional Indian costumes, I’m very aware of the importance of passion, creativity and patience in the planning of events, promotions and marketing endeavors. But also in the art of dance.
I've had event planning and promotions experience with the Essence Music Festival as well as the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets.
As a student and three-time intern, I have created newspaper sections, magazine ads, written published copy for print and broadcast advertisements, created a creative plan, been introduced to graphic design programs such as PhotoShop and InDesign, used SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) for data analysis, Constant Contact Email Marketing, Vocus, TVeyes and worked with a team to plan, prepare and produce an entire integrated marketing communications plan used by the Historic Mobile Preservation Society in Fall 2012.
I began my dance training at the Benjamin's School of Dance, continuing to The Ailey School Summer Intensive, graduated with honors in Dance from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and then began performing with the Spring Hill College Dance Team.
After commencement from Spring HIll, I returned to dance performing with Good Dance since 1984 and Maya Taylor Dance in The New Dance Festival. I've also had the pleasure of studying with choreographers such as: Maurice Hines, The Manzari Brothers, Tiffany Quinn, Kwame Ross, Ronald K. Brown, Dollie Rivas and Barry Stoneking.
